Sir Jack Brabham's second Bathurst appearance saw him team up with his son in an XC Falcon. They qualified strongly in 9th place with a 2m26.9s lap, even outpacing teammates Goss and Pescarolo.

The race was intense, and despite running inside the Top 5, rocker issues forced a long pit stop. The Brabhams ultimately finished 18th outright (9th in Class A), becoming the fourth Falcon to reach the chequered flag.

The 1977 Bathurst 1000 is best remembered for the iconic 1 - 2 finish of the Moffat Ford Dealers team.
